2006–2010 PROGRESS REPORT
Faculty Recruitment and Retention
- The Chancellor’s Diversity Initiative continutes to maintain faculty diversity as one of its top priorities, and has worked consistently with chairs, deans and search committees to increase the numbers of highly qualified applicants belonging to underrepresented groups.
- Four governing bodies on campus, Faculty Council, Staff Advisory Council, Missouri Student Association (MSA) and the Graduate-Professional Council, passed a joint resolution calling for the creation of a task force to consider ways to make MU more family-friendly.

- The Mizzou ADVANCE
mentoring program matched STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) faculty with more senior faculty and administrators for career guidance and professional development. Both women and men could get involved in the mentoring program by serving as mentors or choosing to receive mentoring. While the aim of Mizzou ADVANCE is to promote women's advancement, mentoring improves the working environment for all faculty.
