Staff Issues
- Human Resource Services in concert with division directors from Campus Dining Services, Campus Facilities and Residential Life created a certificate training series for first line supervisors. Mandatory courses include "Preventing Sexual Harassment"
and "Preventing Employment Discrimination."
Another course offered but not mandatory at this time is “Dealing with Diversity and Equity Issues.” This series was implemented in Fall 2008 for the three divisions and was opened up to all campus and system departments in March 2010.
- Staff Advisory Council adopted a goal for 2010-2011 to “support the Chancellor’s Diversity Initiative by promoting a welcoming and inclusive campus climate.” The council initially plans to look at staffing data to identify the units where diversity hiring of staff may be lacking.
