Rosh Hashanah, Jewish Holiday, Sept. 28-30, 2011
The Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday, September 28th and concludes at sundown on Friday, September 30th. Rosh Hashanah marks the start of the Jewish New Year as a day of rest and celebration with prayer in synagogue and festive meals.
Please remember to accommodate our campus community. Avoid scheduling important academic deadlines, events and activities on these dates as they are considered a work holiday to many. Remember to provide food accommodations as requested. Kosher prohibitions include pork, shellfish, and mixing of any meat with dairy (fish is not considered meat).
