Description
“Black Women Rock!” models after "Black Girls Rock!” This organization seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves. We want to honor and recognize African-American women in the Columbia community who empower and motivate through their impact on others. These women are the epitome of what it takes to be a role model to young women and men in our community.
This year BWR honors Sonja Steptoe. A reception follows the award ceremony.
