Description

The intent of universal design is to simplify life for everyone by making products, communications, and the built environment more usable by as many people as possible at little or no extra cost.  Universal Design benefits people of all ages and abilities.  Features of Universal Design include:

Smooth, ground-level entrance without stairs Wide interior doors with wide hallways Bright and appropriate lighting Light switches with large flat panels

7:15 p.m.  Keynote Speaker Colleen Starkloff, Co-Founder of the Starkloff Disability Institute, "Universal Design: 21st Century Policy"
