October Green Dot Conference

Join us from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center for this training for students!

Students: Join the Green Dot Mizzou Team and the RSVP Center to learn about being an active bystander! A Green Dot is any behavior, choice, word or attitude that promotes safety for everyone and communicates intolerance for violence.

This training is an interactive way to learn about how you as an individual can make a difference. After attending, you will be able to help end power-based personal violence on our campus by using the skills and knowledge of when and how to intervene at you attained at the conference. 

What you will learn:

  • What power-based personal violence (PBPV) is and how it can look when using the bystander lens.
  • Ways to intervene as a bystander when witnessing acts of PBPV.
  • Resources available for individuals impacted by PBPV.
  • Ways to proactively end violence in your communities.

Check-in will start at 7:30 a.m., with the training following promptly at 8 a.m. A light breakfast will be provided. A confirmation email with the location of the training as well as reminders pertaining to the training will be sent Oct. 16.

This event will count towards Citizenship@Mizzou and Fraternity and Sorority Life Accreditation. It is required for you to attend the whole training in order to receive credit.
