The Honors College is thrilled to announce that poet, essayist, and former laser physicist Kate Greene has been selected as our 2022 Cherng Distinguished Scholar! In 2013, Greene was the crew writer and second-in-command on the first simulated Mars mission for the HI-SEAS project funded by NASA.

An Evening with Stephanie Beatriz — a moderated Q&A with an award-winning actress, producer, and outspoken LGBTQ+ activist. A natural talent with a striking presence, Beatriz continues to skillfully navigate the entertainment industry with an array of complex roles including Detective Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Carla from In the Heights, and most recently voicing Mirabel Madrigal in Encanto. Join us for a compelling and insightful look into LGBTQ+ advocacy and queer representation in the entertainment industry. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the front desk in the CSI, the Missouri Theater Box Office, The Student Center Box Office, and the Mizzou Women’s Center. Tickets will be passed out tickets in Speakers Circle, a well.
