The Trauma Institute 2022

The Trauma Institute Conference is a new annual program hosted by the Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center. The conference will provide education, professional development, and skill building opportunities for faculty, staff, and graduate/professional students over the course of the morning. Conference topics include items such as mandated reporting and other obligations, navigating empathy and leading with kindness during student/staff/faculty disclosures, trauma informed care, and boundary setting with students.

RESCHEDULED – October 6, 2022
The RSVP Peer Educators, STARS, and It’s On Us have partnered together to present this event. We will begin with a march around campus, and then return to Traditions Plaza for a candlelit vigil and speak out. The speak out will give survivors of sexual assault a chance to share their stories in a safe and supportive environment. A mandated reporting waiver has been granted, so survivors will be free to share without fear.

Denim Day – Virtual!
Denim Day started in 1998 after the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction on the grounds that, because the survivor was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the perpetrator remove them, therefore implying consent. Now, every year people across the world wear denim to show solidarity with all survivors of sexual violence. Tag the RSVP Center on IG/Twitter in your pictures wearing denim and we will reshare them!
