Areas of responsibility


Erika Aaron is the assistant vice chancellor for inclusive engagement and constituent relations for the University of Missouri’s Division of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. Aaron oversees the Office of Inclusive Engagement, which promotes co-curricular activities, community outreach initiatives and resources that support academic and professional pursuits. She also oversees the university’s resource centers – the Cambio Center, Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center, LGBTQ Resource Center Multicultural CenterRelationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Center and Women’s Center

Aaron previously served as the director of inclusion, diversity and equity at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. In that role, Aaron developed initiatives and programs that provided equitable resources for business students. She worked with donors and industry stakeholders to create programming and increase scholarship opportunities for underrepresented populations. She also directed the Allen Access Endowment Scholarship program and the S.U.R.E. Fund program, and served as the director and instructor of the Vasey Academy Scholars program, a seminar-based program of distinction for underrepresented business students. 

Prior to joining the College of Business in 2021, Aaron was a faculty recruitment and engagement specialist for the MU Division of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. There, she focused on equity within the academic recruitment process — expanding recruiting pipelines and partnerships for schools and colleges, developing hiring guidelines and education resources for search committees and defining inclusive recruitment processes.

Before joining MU, Aaron lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and was a global marketing and communications consultant for AT&T. She has also served as corporate director of community engagement and communications for Waste Management, an associate manager of national consumer marketing programs for Coca-Cola and began her career with Motorola in Schaumburg, Illinois, working in marketing and human resources.

A native of Jefferson City, Missouri, Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Hampton University, an MBA from Roosevelt University and a certificate in corporate citizenship management from The Carroll School of Management at Boston College. Aaron lives in Columbia, Missouri, with her two sons – Carl Jr. and Christian.
