Access & Leadership Development

Jennifer E. Brown:

Jennifer “Jenn” Brown is the Associate Director for K-12 Access Programming & Outreach Initiatives within Access and Leadership Development.

At MU Jenn Brown previously has served the campus community through Residential Life and the Office of Undergraduate Research. In those positions, Jenn established campus-wide relationships with faculty and staff to support academic programs and engagement initiatives. Additionally, Jenn co-facilitated first-year seminar courses and advised student organizations. In Undergraduate Research, Jenn collaborated annually with the UM System to promote and advocate for undergraduate research engagement with Missouri’s legislators.

Within Access & Leadership Development, Jenn utilizes her relationships and experiences cultivated at MU to develop, organize, and implement K-12 programming, initiatives, and resources that address areas relative to educational access and professional and personal development activities. Through programs such as STEM Cubs, secondary MOCHA & WOCHA, and the Emerging Leaders Program, Jenn collaborates with campus, state, and local entities to execute high-impact practices that advance students’ knowledge of and access to enriching experiences. Furthermore, Jenn seeks to build sustainable connections between K-12 access and outreach initiatives and post-secondary networks and programming.

Jenn Brown holds bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Applied Science & Chemical Engineering from Westminster College and Washington University in St. Louis, respectively. She also holds a master of science in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University.

Jenn’s interests range from documentaries and biographies to Columbia’s bike trails and food trucks. However, above most else, Jenn enjoys puzzles – 1000-piece jigsaw, word, logic, or numeric.
